Double Ended Deciduous Elevator – Large (4mm)
Rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas and other rodents have continuously growing (hypsodont) teeth, so dental disease is one of the most common problems seen in exotic-animal practice. Overgrown molars, sharp spurs that cut the tongue and cheeks, and loose or elongated incisors all need careful work in a very small, narrow mouth. These instruments are sized for exactly that.
What's in this collection
- Molar and incisor luxators – fine, double-ended luxators for loosening rabbit and rodent teeth before extraction, sold singly or as a set.
- Deciduous elevators – small (2 mm), medium (3 mm) and large (4 mm) double-ended elevators for small teeth and root fragments.
- Tongue and mouth spatula – holds the tongue and cheek clear so you can see and reach the cheek teeth.
- Examination mirror – for checking the hard-to-see surfaces of the molars.
Choosing instruments for exotic dentistry
Work slowly and use instruments that fit the mouth: a rabbit's oral cavity is long and narrow, so slim, double-ended tools give the reach and control you need. Pair these with a cheek dilator and a rodent mouth gag to hold the mouth open, and see our full range of veterinary dental instruments.
All instruments are stainless steel and ship from our warehouse in Baltimore, Maryland. Clinics can request wholesale pricing.
